About FFWPU UK
For over 70 years the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification has been striving to be a beacon for hope and unity in the United Kingdom. Since the arrival of the first missionaries in 1954, FFWPU UK has dedicated itself to promoting peace, family values, and interfaith harmony. Our organisation has grown from humble beginnings to become a newly incorporated CIO (charitable incorporated organisation) and a vibrant community spanning several generations that touches the lives of diverse individuals across the nation.
Achievements:
● Community Building: Over the decades, FFWPU UK has established numerous community centres and programs that foster a sense of belonging and support for families and individuals. One of our flagship projects is The Blessing marriage ceremony, bringing together thousands of couples to pledge and promote stronger families as the cornerstone for world peace.
● Educational Initiatives: We have launched various educational programmes that emphasise character development, leadership, and the importance of family values. Central to these programmes are the teachings of the Divine Principle, which guide us towards living happy and spiritually rewarding lives in healthy and loving relationships.
● Interfaith Activities: FFWPU UK, together with our affiliates, has been at the forefront of promoting interfaith dialogue and cooperation, bringing together people from diverse religious backgrounds to work towards common goals.
● Youth Empowerment: Our youth programs have empowered young people to become leaders in their communities, instilling in them the values of service, integrity, and compassion.
● Charitable Work: Through our charitable initiatives, we have provided support to those in need, both locally and internationally, demonstrating our commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
As we look towards the next seventy years, FFWPU UK is seeking to develop in its mission to engage individuals, families, societies and nations to create a world centred on true love. It will not be an easy road ahead, however, if you resonate with this calling, we invite you to join us on this journey to live for the sake of others and lead our efforts in making a difference as peacemakers and unifiers.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
The role of the National Director is to guide and oversee the life and direction of a thriving FFWPU community on behalf of and representing the True Parents (spiritual) and the UK Trustees (legal).
The UK National Director will be responsible for:
Maintaining spiritual integrity:
uphold the traditions of the FFWPU community and celebrate our culture whilst also building a clear national identity for the charity as a peace and unity movement. The National Director will seek to understand the providential direction of our time and relate it to the FFWPU UK community by visiting and listening to the communities and sharing in fellowship to create a strong and united FFWPU community throughout the UK.
Strategic leadership and planning:
The National Director will have a firm grasp of the purpose, values and strategy of the FFWPU Community and the ability to align ordained and lay staff and key leadership teams with its mission. To accomplish this, the National Director will work as leader of a Senior Management Team, consisting of the Director of Ministry and the Director of Operations and Finance.
This team will be responsible for strategic planning and implementation, working together with local pastors, committees, departments, affiliates and grantees in setting and achieving community-oriented goals.
Developing talent and capacity building:
The National Director, together with the senior management team, is responsible for creating a positive organisational culture. By engaging and overseeing staff training and development, they will effectively mentor, evaluate and manage employees and volunteers, including attracting and retaining volunteers and missionaries from overseas.
Public representation:
Represent FFWPU UK within the UK and on the international stage and articulate our ideas for the wider goals of restoring and healing families as the “school of love.” Together with a PR team, the National Director will advocate for the FFWPU by attending public policy meetings and hearings and building partnerships and alliances, making sure the views of the FFWPU are known to policy makers and to the public.
Oversees administration and financial management:
The National Director will ensure that the systems, practices, policies and resources of the FFWPU Community responsibly and effectively support its ministry activities. Working together with the Director of Finance and Operations, they will ensure financial management is meeting good practices on both HQ and community levels, including the effective use of FFWPU UK properties in a way that contributes to the purposes of FFWPU UK. The National Director, however, is not involved in the day-to-day management of properties. In recognition of the UK’s providential role, the National Director will seek ways to collaborate with and benefit other communities by liaising and reporting to EUME and international FFWPU leaders on a regular basis.
Why should I apply
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to be part of a dynamic and evolving organisation where changes have been made to the National Director role to make it more feasible and enjoyable. As part of a restructuring, the National Director will play an integral role in shaping the future by having a direct say in the recruitment of key positions, including the Director of Ministry. This position, which is now fully resourced and full-time, providing the National Director with the time and support to focus on transforming our blessings into a thriving community. This is an ideal role for a self-starter with a vision to build and grow the FFWPU UK community, balancing both the practical and spiritual aspects of the work. The candidate will benefit from the support of the current National Director to ensure a smooth handover, and can build on previous work to shape a compelling vision and strategic plan for the next three years and beyond.
