Thousands Of Couples Joyfully Receive The Blessing This Spring!
1,200 couples from across the world join together in South Korea to receive the Marriage Blessing.
As a member of our community, receiving the Blessing is one of the most precious moments. The opportunity to join thousands of brothers and sisters and vow in front of God to become a blessing to others, of continuing this beautiful legacy and adding on to it, enriching it with our own families. This beautiful tradition of the Blessing, which may seem not so long, only 64 years, is filled with thousands upon thousands of loving couples and families that have received and passed on this Blessing to their children and grandchildren. Not only that, it represents the reiteration of the origins and foundations of marriage cultures and traditions all around the world and across religions and beliefs. Of the union of two people under God, our Heavenly Parent.
The Holy Marriage Blessing, a ceremony that many of our brothers, sisters, uncles and aunties and parents have been blessed to receive. A symbol of our determination to build God’s and True Parents ideal world, of becoming the salt of the earth, of spreading God’s love and truth across the world. Through the union of cultures, races, lineages and history to bring forth loving families. The staple of our communities and that which moves this world to a better one.
On April 23rd, couples joined together in Korea to celebrate the rich legacy of the Blessing and to participate in it. Becoming Blessed couples and making an eternal promise to each other for now and beyond, becoming pure water couples as our beloved Mother Moon fondly called them.
Many of our members in Europe and the Middle East watched the whole program even though it lasted from midnight until morning in local time.
In South Korea, the day began with a solemn pledge service, similarly to how we begin each holiday, and a beautiful offering table. The spirit of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, True Father, could be felt in the room, coming to sit beside Dr. Hak Ja Han, True Mother, to share the holy meal. As it is custom, True Mother symbolically ate a bit from True Father’s plate, then from hers, and then symbolically drank a bit of water from True Father’s glass and then from hers. She took the time to also share a sincere testimony to God and to Jesus and to the mission of true parents from her own experience and deep connection to our Heavenly Parent. The entertainment was a mix of classical and Korean songs and other performances.
Aryan R., from London, received the Blessing this morning with Alicia. Before travelling, he shared:
“I’m super excited to attend what we call the Blessing. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to follow my parents’ example and experience this incredible joy and purpose that comes from receiving God’s grace in marriage. I’m delighted to celebrate with members across the globe who share my values and ideals. Getting Blessed in such a public manner reinforces our mission to be families that live for the sake of the world instead of just thinking about our happiness as a couple. Despite there being so many people, the Blessing is an exceptionally personal experience. As second-generation members, my fiancée and I have been striving our whole lives towards fulfilling this common dream of forming a God-centred couple. My fiancée is my world, and it is humbling to know Alicia wants to give her whole heart to me, her future husband.”
